FAA rules, there is a shroud of of class E airspace starting 500' AGL under the Huntsville International Airport (KHSV) C class airspace. Otherwise, there is class E airspace around town that starts at 700' AGL. Anywhere else is uncontrolled class G airspace. See local airspace map, class C is denoted by the solid purple line and has altitude markings for where it begins and ends, class E is marked by a purple vignette. If you want to fly without any certification or flight plans, you are limited to flying in class G airspace and away from populated areas and airports. --Spacefelix 09:57, 28 April 2010 (CDT)

I recommend MotoCalc as an analysis tool to determine your propulsion characteristics and power draw for battery sizing. --Spacefelix 02:31, 12 September 2010 (CDT)

LOL, at least I still have fingers. Although it may come back as a flesh-eating zombie at vehicle end-of-life. For safety, I recommend that the prop blade tips be painted a bright color so that the prop disc is visible when the props are spinning. Usually just a small spot of paint of the same size on each tip suffices as to not imbalance the prop. --Spacefelix 09:04, 16 September 2010 (CDT)

I intend to install prop guards sometime soon to prevent this from happening again. --Opticron 09:13, 16 September 2010 (CDT)

LiPo Tip: Do not recommend reusing damaged LiPo cells due to the fire risk. Safe disposal requires that you cut the individual cells open lengthwise, soak them in saltwater for a week to neutralize the contents. Then they may be disposed of in trash. --Spacefelix 00:19, 28 October 2010 (CDT)
